About Me

Jon Talks Trumpet is completely devoted to discussing a variety of trumpet related topics including equipment, history, repertoire, and ongoing research. The YouTube channel, Jon Talks Trumpet, was created in partnership with his wife, Courtney, in August 2020.

Originally from Eagle River, Alaska, Jon now lives in Charlotte, North Carolina since joining the Charlotte Symphony full-time as 2nd Trumpet in the fall of 2017. Since summer 2019, he also has served as the 2nd Trumpet of the Central City Opera Orchestra, located in historic Central City outside of Denver, CO.

Courtney is a life-long musician who spent five years as a public school music teacher before pivoting into management consulting. Even though her primary instrument is saxophone, she still considers herself a trumpet nerd.
